Built in the early 1900’s, in its glory days the Grand Hotel Radium received the most prestigious names on the Italian stage, between Presidents of the Italian Republic and important businessmen like Agnelli and Ferrero families, that chose this place as the perfect destination for their vacations. The high society that mattered in that period, stopped by Lurisia and Radium hotel. Then it’s time for globalization, the tourism changes, and the downfall begins... After its closing, giving back to the hotel his original prestige is the dream of Lurisia and of everyone that treasure it in their hearts and memories. Today, thanks to Marchisio family, Radium reopening symbolize a new starting point. An emblem of rebirth that celebrates the quality and excellence of Made in Italy.

Lurisia is located at 700 meters of height, protected by the 1768 meters of Mount Pigna and surrounded by the marvellous Ligurian Apls. Worldwide famous for the natural properties of its water and renowned among all for its pure air. Here, the streams of sea wind meet with the alpine breeze generating a special microclimate, perfect and ideal for the aging of Cured Ham.


From the pinewood that encircle the production site, a delicate but penetrating sent gives off and spreads around in the surrounding territory. The fresh air brings with it that unmistakable fragrance of wood right inside the aging cellars, built with the original natural stones of the site, embracing and cuddling our hams during their resting period.

It’s a nice Family story. The passion for this old and prestigious profession is born from the instinct and skills of Cav. Giuseppe Marchisio.

Care and observance of the production times give a characteristic sweet and fragrant aroma and a perfect texture, so soft that the ham melts in your mouth, guaranteeing a unique quality that cannot be repeated elsewhere.

The passion for this old and prestigious profession is born over 60 years ago from the instinct and skills of Cav. Giuseppe Marchisio. Handed down through three generations, it finds now with Nadia and her sons Marco and Paolo a way of renewal and strengthening with two new productions: Prosciutto Crudo di Montagna Lurisia and Prosciutto Crudo di Cuneo D.O.P.. In the suggestive location of ex Radium hotel, each thigh is rubbed by hand with a natural mix made with selected salt, fresh and pure Lurisia water and, for Prosciutto Crudo di Montagna Lurisia, with fine herbs from our mountains. The loving care of all production details, the precise observance of the times needed for each production stage, give a characteristic sweet and fragrant aroma and a perfect texture, so soft that the ham melts in your mouth, guaranteeing a unique quality that cannot be repeated elsewhere.


The aging of Prosciutto Crudo di Montagna Lurisia and of Prosciutto Crudo di Cuneo D.O.P. takes place in fresh cellars in natural stone, where the thighs stay hanged for at least 18 months, until the eye and the capable nose of our Master Seasoners will decide that the Ham reached its perfect seasoning.


That and only that is the right time to savour two masterpieces of Italian Charcuterie: Prosciutto Crudo di Montagna Lurisia and Prosciutto Crudo di Cuneo D.O.P.. With a red ruby colour for its lean meat and a milk white colour in its fat part, each slice will delight your senses with unique scents and aromas that tells a story of Mountains, of Pureness and of Passion. Immerse yourselves in our essence and be fascinated!!
